I got great recaps of past events at the right moments to help me understand what happened before and how it ties to the present events occurring. I was able to create very vivid pictures in my mind of the action with all the clear descriptions from the aftermath of the war at the beginning to the forest of the Shademaker Clan where there is a magical shadow shroud to keep them hidden. I loved getting to know the names of the Shadows as they appeared. The battle against Gerik was intense. I am intrigued by learning more about the connection between Rose and King Micah and rooting for them. I can’t wait for the next book to be released, so I can get more answers about the new enemies that have appeared.”
